HOSS TOOLS
Hoss Tools® is the newest addition to the OPICO® product line. Hoss Tools® builds hand-pushed implements suitable for small farmers, gardeners, and organic farmers. The tools are especially useful in high tunnels or hoop houses due to their narrow width, versatility, and lack of a gasoline engine (which can produce dangerous carbon monoxide in a closed environment).
The Hoss Tools seeder is a robust, easy to use push type seeder. Constructed of steel with hardwood handles, this seeder is a worthwhile investment for every small farmer or gardener. The hopper is removable for filling and emptying seed. A back kickstand is included so the planter will stand on its own. A set of six seed plates is included as standard equipment with the seeder, and includes plates for such crops as onions, broccoli, lettuce, carrots, sweet corn, beans, and more. Planting depth is adjustable from 6.4 mm to 38 mm. A row marker is offered as an option as are additional seed plates for other crops such as radishes, cucumbers, squash, and pumpkins.
Included in the line are wheel hoes for cultivation. Based on the old Planet Jr. design, the Hoss Tools wheel hoes are constructed of steel for durability and feature white ash wooden handles for comfort and longevity. The Hoss Tools wheel hoes are available with single or double wheels and can be used for weeding, mulching, or shallow cultivation. A high shield permits cultivation close to the crop without damage.
If you need parts for an old Planet Jr. wheel hoe, it is likely that the parts for a Hoss Tools wheel hoe will interchange with those parts.
Numerous attachments are available for the Hoss Tools wheel hoes including a disc harrow, a plow (available as a set of two or individual left and right pieces), several sizes of hoes, sweeps, and a cultivator.
