With regard to the seed metering device used on the Kasco Eco-Drill, this is a patented "Wobble Slot" system. The Wobble Slot ductile cast seed cup gives precise seed placement. The Wobble Slot is bored and machine faced with a sintered metal rotor of bronze alloy construction (no plastic parts). The precision processed rotor is adjusted by moving the shaft at one point on each drill box, with infinite spacing from 0 to 19 mm for varying seed sizes, weights and rates. There are no feed gates to adjust and no special tools required. The smooth spiral action admits seeds into the chute for uniform planting. There are no rough cogs to damage fragile seeds.

The meter features a cast iron hub (as compared to the plastic ones used by many competitors), which increases life of the meter. A shaft runs through the meter, with slots cut on a diagonal. As the shaft is pulled open (with a handle on the side of the seed box), this slot is opened wider for larger seeds, or can be tightened up for smaller seeds. This system is more exact than any other on the market, ensuring a precise amount of seed to be deposited through the drop tubes and therefore less seed waste. The system is also built heavy so that it stays calibrated cirrectly.
